The Coalition of Asian Pacifics in Entertainment is proud to present the prestigious 12th Annual CAPE New Writers Awards sponsored by Fox Entertainment Group and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. This unique program is dedicated to discovering and nurturing new Asian Pacific American voices for both Feature Film and Television. Winners in both the Film and TV categories will receive a $4,000 cash prize, the latest Final Draft screenwriting software, a staged reading of their winning script, and exclusive opportunities to meet with prominent entertainment executives and producers.
If your script was produced as an independent feature with a budget under $1 million, you can now enter it into the 2011 CAPE New Writers Awards. And you can enter as many submissions as you’d like.
Submissions are being accepted from now until May 27, 2011. CAPE Members pay only $35 per submission. Non-members pay $50 per submission.
Over the years, CAPE has helped launch the careers of numerous writers in Hollywood. In 2009, TV Winner Aaron Ho won a coveted spot in the Disney/ABC Writing Program, and then joined the writing staff of the hit ABC series COUGAR TOWN. In 2010, TV Winner Randall Park landed a talent deal with NBC, and Feature Winner Jaffar Mahmood secured a highly competitive spot in the Disney/ABC Directing Program.
