Did you know that three Filipino-Americans had key behind-the-scenes roles in Academy Award winning film, “God of Love?”  Stefanie Walmsley and Gigi Dement are co-producers, and our good friend Stephen Dypiangco was the producer of marketing and distribution (PMD) of the Oscar winner for Best Live Action Short, which Luke Matheny directs and stars in. Stephen was also interviewed by GMA News on the sweet Oscar victory, read more here.

“God of Love” is described in the production notes as about “a lounge-singing darts champion (Raymond)… who finds his prayers are answered—literally—when he receives a mysterious package of passion-inducing darts.” It is Luke’s thesis film for the graduate film program of the New York University (NYU). The black and white short won the gold medal in the 2010 Student Academy Awards and various prizes in the film festival circuit.
