For those interested in learning more about Chinese culture, my good friend Z.J. Tong from the Chicago Chinese Cultural Institute has some great upcoming events and updates for the new year. If you happen to be in Chicago’s Chinatown over the weekend, make sure you stop by the bookstore and say hi. Their last day of operation will be Jan. 2, 2011. CCCI wishes everybody a great holiday season and look forward to seeing many of you in the new year.
Food and Culture Tour to China in 2011
Join Z.J. Tong in 2011 for a food and culture tour to China in 2011 (May 26 – June 12). The idea of organizing a food and culture tour to China is a direct result of the success of our Chopsticks Dinning Club, which was featured on Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Time and Time Out Chicago. Z.J. Tong will personally lead this 18-day tour to Beijing, Jinan, Qufu (Confucius’ hometown), Xi’an, Chengdu, Shanghai and Suzhou. In addition to wonderful food exploration, you’ll also see the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, the Terra Cotta Warriors, Confucius home, the Bund in Shanghai and even an opportunity to see Giant Panda. You’ll be travelling on airplane as well as an experience on China’s fast train. A rare opportunity to visit a Chinese family is also included. Don’t just travel like a any other tourist, travel with an expert who has made many special arrangements for you. For day-to-day itinerary and price of the tour, please click here.
