From the Desk of Bennie Salindong

FIFFLA-Festival Manager

This year FIFFLA is having problems raising funds.  They have already cut the budget to its minimum to run the film festival and to lower costs. FIFFLA is a non-profit organization and every single one of their staff are on voluntary basis and do not get paid for any services rendered.  FIFFLA is working on this project solely out of their own time because of passion and pride for our heritage and culture. As I’ve stated before on this blog, Filipinos need to be represented and visible in the U.S. This Fil-Am organization understand how powerful a film festival can be, especially when carrying the word “Filipino” and bearing the Filipino flag as a logo.  The reach of FIFFLA goes beyond our own Filipino community and has a profound effect to not just in our Filipino films and talent but as a people as well. For more on how you can support FIFFLA please go to fiffla.org or contact jeff@fiffla.org.
