I first caught a preview of the pilot of GOLDEN BOY over at channelAPA and I have to say I was hooked. GOLDEN BOY is a half-hour, single camera, comedic television program in the vein of HBO’s “Extras,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and “Entourage.” Feodor Chin pulls double duty as the show’s star and working behind the scenes as producer/writer. GOLDEN BOY tells the story of Scott Wong, an up-and-coming Hollywood screenwriter. As Scott makes his way through the madcap world of Hollywood’s film and television industry, he is helped (and occasionally hindered) by Naomi, his actress girlfriend, and Albert “Bert” Reynolds, his “big time” agent. Can this Hollywood “golden boy” find commercial success without losing his artistic soul?
Fil-Am Actress Golda Inquito stars as Esperanza Esmeralda Corazon Aquino Valdez, a Filipino Reality Star whose character is more than just the stereotypical religious Filipino complete with the FOB accent. On top of being an accomplished actress, Golda Inquito is a writer, producer, and singer. She has performed in numerous critically acclaimed theatrical, television, and film productions. Some of her favorite credits include: Jessica Hagedorn’s Dogeaters (Center Theatre Group), Pilgrim (Ricardo Montalban Theatre), “The Shield” (Fox/Sony), True Grits (Dir. Tonya Pinkins), Chess(New Voice Company), A Midsummer Night’s Dream andComedy of Errors (both by Greenroom Productions). Golda is also a founding member of the musical group Boo Boo Kitty.
If only this show were on tv, then it would be a part of my lineup which includes Community and Supernatural. You can preview the pilot episode here. For more on Golden Boy visit their Facebook page and official website.
