I’m not a big fan of video games meaning they don’t appeal to me and I don’t really play them at all. What attracted me to Dante’s Inferno was the fact that it’s based on one of my favorite pieces of literature, Dante Alighieri’s The Divine Comedy. This video game adaptation is a third person action title building an action story line from Alighieri’s poem. The video game from EA tries its best in staying close to the source material but devoted fans of Alighieri’s work would definitely be appalled at this video game adaptation. In my opinion, the video game looks great and would probably attract players to seek out a copy of The Divine Comedy. Another thing that attracted to me to Dante’s Inferno was its beautiful Assistant Producer, Tracy Espeleta. It was a pleasant surprise to see a Filipina play an important role in the video game industry, a non-traditional career path for a lot of Fil-Ams. “I was the associate producer working on the cinematics. So a lot of the pre-rendered movies, what we call the flash back sequences and I also worked on some of the UI (User Interface),” said Espeleta in an interview about the game. Espeleta’s credentials also includes work on The Simpsons Game and Dead Space. She recently took on a role as producer at Booyah and you can follow her on Twitter for more video game updates.
