Don’t forget that this Friday is the start of PhilFest 2010. Now on it’s 15th year, PhilFest 2010 will be held from Friday to Sunday, March 26-28, 2010. This event is brought to you by the Philippine Cultural Foundation, Inc. which is based in Tampa, Florida. This organization is known for their extravagant events like the Sampaguita Ball. This year, staff from the Philippine Consular Office in Washington, D.C. will hold the Consulate-On-Wheels at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center on Saturday and Sunday. Cultural exhibits will be displayed at the Bayanihan Arts and Events Center throughout the festival. The displays will feature various historical information and artifacts from different parts of the Philippines. National and regional costumes will be worn by live models and mannequins and musical entertainment will also be provided. YUGYUGAN 2010 ( Philippine Street Dancing), is an event where PCFI member organizations compete for prizes for most colorful costume and choreography, is also some sight to watch.
The Grand Raffle Drawing, with cash prizes of $3,000, $2,000 and $500 will be held on Sunday afternoon before the coronation of Mrs. PhilFest 2010 and Grand Parade winners. The Mrs. PhilFest competition is participated in by some PCFI member organizations to raise funds for PCFI. The candidate of the organization raising the most funds is awarded the Mrs. PhilFest crown.
Advance PhilFest tickets are $5 and will cost $6 at the gate. Children under 5 are free. Advance tickets and raffle tickets may be credited to the Mrs. PhilFest candidate of your choice.
