I was recently informed about a new literary journal by Lawrence-Minh Davis, the editor of The Asian American Literary Review. The Asian American Literary Review (AALR) is a space for writers who consider the designation “Asian American” a fruitful starting point for artistic vision and community. In showcasing the work of established and emerging writers, the journal aims to incubate dialogues and open those dialogues to regional, national, and international audiences of all constituencies. According to Davis, their first few issues will feature a number of prominent Filipino American writers, including Brian Ascalon Roley, Oliver de la Paz, Nick Carbo, Rick Barot, Eugene Gloria, and R.Z. Linmark. Please visit AALR’s website and join their facebook group for more details on the release of their first issue.
