CPAF: Alison De La Cruz’s personal account

The video posted above featuring a brave Pinay Alison De La Cruz on her personal account is very intense and really got to me. I hate to say it but domestic violence and sexual assault in the Filipino community is something I hear about all the time. I am very thankful that all the members in my family have raised me to have respect for women because no woman should ever go through what Alison De La Cruz experienced. This personal account is a part of a series of promos from Center for the Pacific Asian Family (CPAF) that provides a multi-lingual 24-hour call center, emergency shelter, transitional housing program, counseling services and community outreach programs that focuses on the needs of victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. CPAF finished in the top 100 out of a half million eligible groups in the first round of the Chase Community Giving contest on Facebook. As a result, they received $25,000 and a chance to compete for a grand prize of $1 million or one of five runner-up awards of $100,000 in the final round of voting from January 15-22. It only takes 10 seconds to vote as De La Cruz stated. You can postpone playing Mafia Wars or Farmville and take the time to vote for CPAF on facebook. Do your part and go here to vote.
