I have been following Fil-Am singer Michelle Martinez for the past year and that is saying a lot because I am not a big fan of R&B (I can’t stand female artists singing about how they don’t need a man or Brian McKnight counting numbers). This girl has got a set of pipes and it shows in a lot of her videos on her YouTube channel. The video posted above is her performance of the US National Anthem for her home team, the San Francisco Giants. I wanted to post this because after watching this performance I really felt proud to be both a Filipino and an American something I haven’t felt in a really long time. Also, I feel that this performance redeems Pinay singers in the US (i.e. Erika David’s not so great rendition of “God Bless America”).
