Today marks 8 years since the tragic events of September 11th, 2001 otherwise known as 9/11. This morning a vigil at the site of the World Trade Center, where nearly 3,000 people were killed, drew those who had lived through the tragedy and people who wanted to pay respects to those who lost their lives. Survivors want the world to remember what happened that day. This post is dedicated not only to the many lives lost 8 years ago but to inform all that 18 Filipino-Americans died at the World Trade Center.
From WE REMEMBER 9-11:
“We love you, Mommy,” said Nicole Alegre Cua, 15, and her younger brother Patrick, children of World Trade Center victim Grace Alegre Cua of Mitsui Trust & Banking Co.
The 9/11 World Trade Center Fil-Am victims included Grace Alegre Chua, Marilyn Bautista, Judy Fernandez, Jayceryll de Chavez, Cecile Caguicla, Cesar Alviar were the only names I was able to access. For more information please refer to The Filipino Express
With today marking 8 years of the tragic events of 9/11, not only Americans but everyone around the world should not forget what today means and remember the many lives lost including the 18 Fil-Ams.
