The Right Time to Learn a Filipino Dialect

People say that the best time to learn a foreign language is from birth to age 7. In a recent study, scientists are researching how children’s brains can become bilingual easily in hopes that it could eventually help the rest of the world learn a new language a bit easier. I don’t want to bore my readers by getting into the science portion of this study as it is very dry and available at AP. This article is important for any of you parents out there who want their children to be more cultured and fluent in their mother tongue rather than how Pinoys were taught in the 60s through the early 90s to be more Westernized and assimilated, sacrificing their Filipino identity. More about this study is in the article Unraveling how children become bilingual so easily

So for those of you who are interested in learning one or two of the estimated 171 Philippine dialects, its not too late. Thanks to my Ate (older sister), Kristine for the source material.
